Software Updates |
All software packages have follow-up releases that fix problems, change functions, and/or add new features. They are often called "patches", "bug fixes", "maintenance releases", or "service releases". Generally, you should keep your software up-to-date, as the new versions will fix major problems that can lead to data loss or system crashes. But every user won't experience every problem. Soon, all software will probably automatically update itself over the Internet, but until then, you'll just have to do it yourself. If you are not comfortable doing your own updates, just call for an appointment, and leave it to us. It's always best to have a backup.... just in case!

* [Help - About] - means to check the Help menu, under About productname. For instance, to check the version number of Microsoft Word, go the the Help menu, and then choose About Microsoft Word. There, you'll see the version information, followed by the maintenance release number. Each product is slightly different, but if you just check a few products, you'll catch on easily.
